Enoggera Reservoir is one of the most historically significant constructions in Queensland dating back to 1866.  Only ten kilometres from the centre of Brisbane, it falls within Brisbane Forest Park.

A Brisbane Bushland outlines the history of the reservoir and highlights with photographs, drawings and brief descriptions some of the wildlife and plants in the diverse mix of habitats surrounding it.

While particularly relevant to this area of Brisbane Forest Park, the book can also act as a useful guide to some of the lesser known flora and fauna in many other areas of Brisbane’s bushlands.  The twenty-two fields of natural history covered include fungi, water plants, wild food plants, lichens, mosses, cicadas, dragonflies and ants.  Drawings and descriptions help to identify wattles and eucalypts and there is a segment dealing with ticks and how to deal with their bites.
