Report – iNaturalist Workshop held at Saint Peters Lutheran College, 27th July 2024

This workshop attracted 25 attendees excluding speakers, and fulfilled the workshop goals with much positive feedback being received. Thanks to the QNC members who organised and presented the material,  St Peters Lutheran College for hosting the event, and their staff member who provided audio-visual equipment expertise.

Goals of the workshop:

  • To provide an understanding of what makes an observation worthy of uploading to the program, including photography standards
  • To provide an introduction to projects, the different types of projects, their utility and in particular, projects created as a record of QNC excursions
  • To provide attendees with a background knowledge of how to assist the scientific and social purposes of iNaturalist
  • To facilitate attendees becoming more confident in exploring the massive iNaturalist database to find what is interesting and helpful to them as individuals and to science more broadly
